Apollo Microcontroller - Discontinued
The Apollo was created by Higher Order Innovation specifically with education and competition in mind. It has been designed to be an Arduino compatible electronics platform based on easy-to-use hardware and software. Insight and inspiration for Arduino technology can be seen in the thousands of forums, tutorials, and resources provided by the vast number of people using Arduino worldwide.
The Apollo is designed to provide access to 20 reconfigurable sensor ports, 12 motor ports, and two separate power cables. The first power connection powers the microcontroller, sensors, and USB port while the second one provides power to the 12 motor ports. This separation of power provides for more consistent operation as the high-load motors do not affect the primary battery that runs your program. Additionally, an on-board LED and two battery measurement circuits provide you feedback on the state of your robot.
